This was an amazing wedding. I have to admit that of all the different types of weddings I have photographed over the years, my favorite are the do-it-yourself, down-home country weddings! Maybe because I grew up in a small town; maybe because my husband wants to be a farmer and we own a farmers market; maybe because I'm a foodie and love baking and doing crafts...whatever the reason I love the atmosphere, locations, and details of country weddings. This one was no exception. One of my family portrait clients contacted me about photographing her brother's wedding at their sister's farm in Issaquah and I jumped at the chance! Despite the gray skies and occasional drizzle, the couple's joy could not be dampened and the whole gang was so much fun to be around. Here are some of my favorite images from the day:
| The simple but beautiful ceremony site, complete with buckets of freshly-picked flowers and rows of covered hay. |
| The bride gets ready |
| The beautiful bride, Thalia |
| Andy, Thalia and a hen (of course) |
| The lovely homeowner (middle) and one of the benefits to being the site's pooch (lots of attention)! |
| The flowergirls make their entrance / The ceremony |
| Reception time! |
| My client, Prima (Andy's sister) made their cake and all of the other desserts (cupcakes too). Yes, I've told her to go into business and yes, she is considering it! |
| More of the farm's tenants |
| The most amazing cupcakes! |
| My client Prima & daughter Avery; a local; and lots of giggles! |
| The newlyweds cutting loose at the end of the day. |
